Mobile IV Mornington Peninsula

Where we come to across the Mornington Peninsula

Our nurses cover the full length of the Mornington Peninsula, from the northern suburbs just past Frankston all the way down to Portsea at the tip, and across to the Western Port side in the east. Everything needed for your appointment travels with the nurse, so there is no clinic to get to and nothing for you to organise beforehand.

The Peninsula has three distinct sides, and each books differently. The northern belt around Mornington, Mount Martha and Mount Eliza holds most of the population and sits closest to Melbourne, so it carries our steadiest weekday demand at homes and offices. The Port Phillip Bay side runs south from Safety Beach through Dromana, Rosebud and Rye to Sorrento and Portsea — a coastal strip weighted heavily to holiday houses and short-stay rentals. The Western Port side in the east, around Somerville, Hastings and Balnarring, is more residential and semi-rural, and books more like the northern belt than the coast.

Because the Peninsula runs roughly 50 kilometres end to end, travel time is the main thing shaping availability. Appointments in the north can usually be scheduled at shorter notice than the far southern towns, which our nurses reach less often across a given week.

Demand on the bay side rises sharply over summer and across long weekends, when a large share of our bookings are at holiday accommodation rather than home addresses. Send the property address and any access details — a gate code, key-box location or unit number — when you book.

Northern Peninsula

Frankston, Mount Eliza, Mornington, Mount Martha

Closest to Melbourne and home to most of the Peninsula population. Our most flexible area for short-notice weekday appointments.

Port Phillip Bay side

Safety Beach, Dromana, McCrae, Rosebud, Capel Sound, Tootgarook, Rye, Blairgowrie, Sorrento, Portsea

The bay-facing coastal strip down to the tip. Mostly holiday houses and short-stay rentals — weekend and summer slots fill first, and the Sorrento and Portsea end is our furthest point.

Western Port side

Somerville, Hastings, Tyabb, Bittern, Crib Point, Pearcedale, Balnarring, Somers

The eastern side of the Peninsula, more residential and semi-rural. Steadier weekday demand, and easier to reach than the far southern coast.

About the Peninsula

Two coastlines, an hour from the city

The Mornington Peninsula is a narrow hook of land with two entirely different coastlines, and in places they sit only a few kilometres apart. On the Port Phillip side the water is flat and shallow, lined with the painted bathing boxes at Dromana and the long safe beaches that fill with families every January. Cross to the Bass Strait side and it is a different country altogether — the surf beaches at Gunnamatta, Portsea and Sorrento Back Beach, rock platforms and rip lines, and the basalt cliffs running out to Cape Schanck.

Almost everything on the Peninsula is oriented around that geography. Arthurs Seat rises straight up behind Dromana, high enough that the view from the top takes in the whole bay and, on a clear day, the Melbourne skyline. Cape Schanck Lighthouse has stood at the southern tip since 1859. Between them runs the Two Bays Trail, 26 kilometres from Dromana across to the ocean side. At the very end, past Sorrento and Portsea, the land narrows to Point Nepean, looking across The Rip to Point Lonsdale on the Bellarine.

For a service that travels, the Peninsula is really three places rather than one. The northern towns just past Frankston feel like an extension of Melbourne. The bay coast running south is holiday country, quiet mid-week and completely full over summer. And the Western Port side in the east — Somerville, Hastings, Balnarring, the flats looking across to French Island — stays farmland and small towns year round. Our nurses drive all of it.
